Hamburg-Xiangqi-Days (20-Year-Celebration of DXB) - Oct. 26-28, 2012

On the 27th and 28th of October German Xiangqi Association (DXB) celebrated its 20-Year-Birthday in Hamburg Yu-Yuan-Teahouse.
An event of China-Xiangqi-Day and the 19th German Xiangqi Individual Championship was held sponsored by Hamburg Confucius Institute and Zhong-Munich Business (Europe) GmbH.
Meanwile a side-tournament of Hansa-Horse Cup and the Children Alster Cup were carried out in parallel.
 
Chinese General Consul in Hamburg Mr. Yang Huiqun has attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech and made the first symbolic move.
About 40 local players aged from 8 to 70 has participated in the Xiangqi tournament including a Finnish guest player Mikko Tornqvist.
 
The first Xiangqi tournament dated back to 1992 in Hamburg and it is a destiny that the celebration goes back to the starting point after 20 years.
For the past 20 years DXB has achieved a lot with a "mass production" of Xiangqi-Masters. Till now the qualifiers in Germany are 3 WXF Federal Master, 1 EXF Grandmaster, 5 EXF Master (including 1 Female), 16 EXF NCNV Master. Besides, 6 German Xiangqi Grandmaster and 10 German Master have been generated in DXB.
 
The success story of promoting Xiangqi in the Hamburg Confucius Institute is recognized as a model and expected to be followed suit in other countries.

Neben dem EXF hat auch der DXB die Vergabe von (nationalen) Titeln mit dem WXF abgestimmt.

The newly founded EXF Evaluation and Qualification Committee is pleased to announce the issuing of EXF titles, authorized also by Ms Shan Xiali, WXF Director of Title and Qualification.

German Xiangqi Federal League has entered the 20th year anniversary

On the 18th and 19th of February in the historic city of Nuremberg in Germany, 26 Xiangqi plays has participated in the German Xiangqi Federal League (Bundesliga) which entered the 20th year anniverssary. German Xiangqi Association (DXB) has initiated the Xiangqi Bundeslige in 1992, and this traditional tournament has attracted over 100 Xiangqi fans, most of them are German natives who come from International Chess background. The German Bundesliga has 4 tournaments in a year season held respectively in Hannover, Nuremberg, Lingen and Jena. Braunschweig, Hamburg and Munich used to be the alternatives for the past few years. All the players are volutary to choose attending two or more tournaments and the sum of the best two scores will be evaluated as the prequalification to the finals in Berlin every summer in July or August. Top 6 will be invited to participate in the German Xiangqi Championship fighting for the Deutscher-Master. Along with the finals an invitational open tournament named Berlin Summer Cup is held at the same time and open for all the Xiangqi fans.

2012 is the Chinese Culture Year in Germany. To celebrate the 20-Year Anniverssary, DXB will hold the German Xiangqi Championship including Berlin Summer Cup initially scheduled on July 28-29. The event will be sponsored by Chinese Embassy and Confucius Institute in Berlin. A Xiangqi-Master delegation will be invited from China to make a show and promote Xiangqi during the tournament. Teenager players and Xiangqi fans from China are welcome to join the Berlin Summer Cup!
